The Monadnock Conservancy is pleased to announce that Merrilee Frable has been hired as a Conservation Project Manager. Merrilee will work with the land protection team to help accelerate the pace of conservation in our region.

Merrilee is no stranger to the Conservancy. Between 2012 and 2015, while a graduate student at Antioch, she volunteered for us and also completed three internships in our stewardship department. She monitored easements, built a GIS map atlas system, and was the principal researcher of a beech management and American chestnut restoration project at the protected Maynard Forest in Gilsum. She was named Volunteer of the Year in 2015.

After interning for the Conservancy, Merrilee worked for the Open Space Institute in New York for three years, where she assisted with land protection projects, managed more than 20,000 acres of protected land, and coordinated regional master planning initiatives connecting New York State Parks. Merrilee holds a master’s degree in Conservation Biology from Antioch University New England.

When Merrilee was presented with the Volunteer of the Year award, she was called “an asset to the field of land conservation, wherever it may take her.” We are thrilled that her career has brought her back to the Monadnock Conservancy.
