Granucci & Aarons Conservation Easement

We are proud to announce that 185 acres of forests and wetlands are now forever conserved in Gilsum. This achievement was made possible by the vision and dedication of Peter Granucci and Paula Aarons, who donated a conservation easement to keep forests, fields, wetlands, and a half mile along the Ashuelot River safe from future development. The property adds to nearby tracts of conserved land, creating a contiguous block of over 3,000 acres. Large, conserved tracts are especially significant, as they store carbon and give wildlife space to adapt to climate change.

*Transaction funding for the project was provided by the Quabbin-to Cardigan Partnership, a public/private effort to protect the Monadnock Highlands of western New Hampshire and north central Massachusetts. To learn more, visit www.q2cpartnership.org.

Additional support made possible by a grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s MCF Conservation Assistance Fund.
