Pinnacle Slope

86 acres including the slope of The Pinnacle – Fitzwilliams’s second highest peak –  are now forever conserved!  These 86 acres sit near other conserved land, including Rhododendron State Park, other land under easement with the Monadnock Conservancy, and land owned by the Town of Fitzwilliam and managed as conserved land. This easement will also protect a portion of the Town of Fitzwilliam’s Blue Loop trail around the Pinnacle. A big thank you to landowner Peter Smith of Newton, Massachusetts, who donated the conservation easement covering 86 acres of forest his family has owned since the 1940s. Peter also covered the costs of the project!
