Hiking the Calhoun Family Forest

Join consulting forester Swift Corwin for a moderately difficult, 3.5-mile hike on the Porcupine Falls Trail (and beyond) to a high point overlooking Bears Den Natural Area. Expect 400 feet of elevation gain, and a mix of trails and bushwhacking. Bring lunch, and meet at 9 a.m. at the Corwin property in Gilsum, which is located on the south (righthand) side of White Brook Road 0.75 miles east of the Gilsum Stone Arch Bridge and just before you reach the Calhoun Family Forest parking area.
