Conservationists Peter Beblowski, Peter Moore, and Rod Zwirner helped bring about the Campbell Pond easement in Antrim.
The Monadnock Conservancy works with an important group of volunteers called “Town Representatives.” In each of the municipalities we serve, we strive to have at least one volunteer “Town Rep” who is actively engaged in advancing the Conservancy’s land conservation work. Town Reps are members of the Conservancy, appointed for two-year terms by the Board, and are called upon to fulfill responsibilities in three areas: fostering community education and communication, enhancing land protection projects, and recruiting new members.
Town Representatives may provide a personal link to town boards and officials; feed staff good leads on projects; assist staff in talking with landowners about conservation, obtain tax maps and other key local information, review the natural resources of properties; help recruit members and donors; and more. The Conservancy equips these volunteers with these skills through biannual training sessions, monthly e-mail updates, and informational materials about land conservation in general and Conservancy projects in particular.
We could not do our work without the help of these dedicated volunteers! See below for the name of the Town Rep in your town.
