ART SALE TO BENEFIT MONADNOCK CONSERVANCY
Christine Destrempes will donate 50% of proceeds
(KEENE/HARRISVILLE) – The Monadnock Conservancy is pleased to announce that artist and landowner, Christine Destrempes, has pledged to donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of her art during the 12th Annual Open Studio Art Tour to the Conservancy. Destrempes, a long-time resident of the Monadnock Region, and her husband, Noel Greiner, are conservation landowners with the Monadnock Conservancy.
Concerned over the shrinking availability of clean water throughout the world, Destrempes has taken her original prints and paintings in a new direction with the purpose of engendering an appreciation for and promoting preservation of one of our most precious natural resources. With a varied inventory from earlier bodies of work, she decided that the Art Tour was the perfect opportunity to combine a discount sale of previous work with a benefit for local land conservation.
Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and appears in numerous private and corporate collections. For examples of her current work, visit www.destrempes.com; to view a sample of the work for sale during the Tour, visit www.monadnockconservancy.org and click on the “What’s New” button.
The Art Tour, which will be held on Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7, runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and showcases the work of artists from around the Monadnock Region. Destrempes’ studio, located at 316 Hancock Road in Harrisville, is number 29 on the Art Tour. Maps are available at www.monadnockart.org.
Founded in 1989, the Monadnock Conservancy is a non-profit land conservation organization that serves 35 towns in southwestern New Hampshire. Its mission is to identify, promote, and actively seek protection of significant natural, aesthetic, and historic resources in the Monadnock Region; and to monitor and enforce the protection of lands in the trust.
