MONADNOCK CONSERVANCY AND
SPECIAL GUESTS TO LEAD HIKE ON
NEW CONSERVATION LAND
( KEENE)—On Saturday, July 14 th at 1:00 pm, the Monadnock Conservancy will lead an informational hike on the recently protected Daniels Mountain conservation land located near Plain Road in Hinsdale. The outing will explore an unusual forest type and celebrate the recently completed Bear Mountain Trail, leading up to the top of Daniels Mountain.
The McDonalds of Fairfax, VA, donated a conservation easement on their 158 acres in December of 2006. The Property protects the highest point between Mt. Wantastiquet and Mt. Pisgah and also provides perpetual recreational opportunities affording spectacular views. In addition, the Daniels Mountain land protects forested wildlife habitat and connects directly to other protected lands.
The Chesterfield Conservation Commission partnered with the Monadnock Conservancy in bringing this project to fruition. For more information and directions, contact Emily Hague at 603-357-0600 or emily@monadnockconservancy.org.
